SANTA CRUZ, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Murj, Inc., a digital health company dedicated to helping clinicians streamline care for patients with implantable cardiac devices, today announced its participation in the Napa Valley Atrial Fibrillation Symposium, which is taking place August 24 – 27 in Napa, Calif. The company will demonstrate how its cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant application consolidates data from all implantable cardiac device (CIED) types and manufacturers into an elegant, robust platform that delivers rapid clinical care and deep patient insight.

Additionally, Murj has recently added a new position to its sales team, hiring Mark Pederson as director of sales.

“Management of patients with atrial fibrillation is enormously time consuming for physicians, and our goal is to simplify the process, thereby enabling clinicians to focus more on the patients and less on triaging device alerts,” said Todd Butka, founder and CEO of Murj. “The response to our launch this spring has been extremely positive, and we are expanding to meet this demand. I am thrilled to bring Mark Pederson onto the team to help us reach the many clinics who are excited to use Murj.”

Pederson joins Murj with more than 20 years of experience in sales, 14 of those in the medical technology space. Most recently, he was a sales representative with Medtronic’s Cardiac and Vascular Group, working closely with hospitals and device clinics on patient management.

“My Medtronic experience gives me a unique perspective into the excessive time-consuming processes required by physicians to manage their device patients,” said Pederson. “I am excited to join Murj to be able to solve this very real issue for the clinical community.”

To ease the growing burden of CIED device data transmissions, Murj facilitates an efficient and rapid workflow, reducing a routine device check to under two minutes and just two clicks. Physicians can review and approve all device impressions with ease, and patient historicals and prior events are immediately available. Recalls can also be easily managed for rapid patient care. Murj allows clinics to boost their productivity, and track and measure care benchmarks for CIED management.

Murj recently announced a Series A fundraising round of more than $4.5 million in partnership with True Ventures and Social Capital.

About the Napa Valley Atrial Fibrillation Symposium

Co-sponsored by the Heart Rhythm Society and Gather Napa Valley, the purpose of this symposium is to bring together physicians and healthcare professionals to engage in a multi-disciplinary program to address the current standards and advances in identifying and optimally treating atrial fibrillation. The program will provide important details from the latest findings in research and a unique hands-on opportunity to explore state-of-the-art techniques and technologies.
